BOOKS

In 2023 I published my first book, CONTACT: The Artistry of Jesus in Nine Faces, a crossover work about a new series of drawings of mine that ask us to reconsider who Jesus was before anything else we may know Him for, namely that He was an artist first. This work correlates theology, psychology and aesthetics, in exploring how these drawings were created, and the story they tell of Jesus’ journey from unlimited artistic power to limitation and trauma and back again.

CONTACT is available in two formats, 10 x 10 hardcover, obtainable from myself for $75 CDN (plus shipping) at: tughanj@gmail.com

JOURNALS Theology and the Arts

In 2016, McMaster Divinity College convened a conference of the arts that featured both theologians and working artists in a significant exploration of the relationship between the arts and the Christian scriptures. This collection of essay papers and plenary lectures has now been released by the school and Wipf and Stock publishers. It is an important work of scholarship that focuses on many key issues arising from how artists see and indeed how perception works in partnership with biblical revelation. My contribution was one of the plenaries on the nature of realism, in SIGHTUNSEEN. (What is real, where is real, who is real?)

PRINTS

I have made many of my images available in the form of signed and numbered limited edition (very limited) Gicleé prints. This makes the images more accessible price-wise than the originals, and of a far higher quality (light-fast) than offset lithographic prints. Prints are supplied with certificates of authenticity. Where regional delivery and small sizes are possible, print prices often include standardized low-cost framing. Larger prints are sold unframed or unframed depending the customer’s wish to have custom framing provided or not. What is recommended is a phone conversation to work out what is required in each situation. (see available prints below)
